Dec 06, 2017 eBooks.com's Ebook Reader lets you read your favorite books on the. Gratis eBooks.

Hermann Hesse (July 2, 1877 -- August 9, 1962) was a German poet, novelist, essayist and painter. His best-known works included Steppenwolf, Siddhartha, and The Glass Bead Game, each of which explores an individual's search for authenticity, self-knowledge and spirituality. In 1946, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature. Hess publicly announced his views on the savagery of World War I, and was considered a traitor. He moved to Switzerland where he eventually became a naturalized citizen. He warned of the advent of World War II, predicting that cultureless efficiency would destroy the modern world. ![]() ![]() His theme was usually the conflict between the elements of a person's dual nature and the problem of spiritual loneliness. You’ve probably wondered if it would be possible to make money off of your book, or at least gain some exposure, by selling it as an eBook on Amazon. Well, the idea isn’t as far-fetched as you might imagine. As long as you have already created something worth reading, the process of getting it into Amazon as an eBook isn’t that onerous. We’ll take you through the basic steps of how to make your own ebook today and you can be selling your eBook in a few days. Download Sigil And Kindle Previewer and Kindle Previewer are two free programs you’ll need to create eBooks, so grab them now. You’ll be working mainly in Sigil, but you’ll need the to convert to MOBI for Amazon later. Note, there are other – even. This is the process we use at MakeUseOf to convert for Amazon, because it’s free and allows us enough control to create exactly what we want. Use Sigil To Create An ePub File You’ll need to use Sigil to create an ePub file. This is by far the most technically difficult part of the process and could be explained thoroughly in a short novel if required. The good news is, it’s not that hard. It’s just that if you want to do very technical things with Sigil it is certainly possible. ![]() If you know HTML and can get the hang of Sigil’s methods, you’ll quite happily get your ePub file made in a short while. I’ll go through the basics for you. On the left you’ll see the book browser. To add items to any section of it, right click on the folders and do so. Text contains your book chapters, Styles contains your CSS (but there’s no need to add your own), and Images contains your image files – including a 900px wide copy of your cover image. For each chapter, you can paste your text in using the book view and adjust the text styles using the toolbar. To add a chapter, go to the Text folder, right click and choose “Add Blank Section”. To get images into the document, first head to the Images folder, right click and choose “Add Existing Files”. To add images to the text, you can use Edit > Insert > Image once your pictures are in the Images folder, but it’s also possible to switch to code view and add them using HTML with the format below. ![]() ![]() Inserting the image is less likely to give you code errors. You’ll also want to add a cover, which will need its own section in the Text folder. Add your cover image using whichever method you prefer from above. Then right-click the cover section within the text folder and choose “Add Semantics” and “Cover”. After all your headings are formatted correctly, to add a table of contents you need to click on the button marked “Generate TOC from headings”. If you also want to see a table of contents within the book, you can create that yourself in another Text section by manually linking to each heading ID individually, which will involve reading the code for each chapter to find them. You’ll also want to right click on your home-made TOC section, choose “Add Semantics” and “Table Of Contents”. Using File > Validate ePub or the big green tick in the toolbar, check to see if your code is good. The errors that may pop up will need fixing before you move on. If you see errors, check the following things before re-verifying: • Are all of your pictures entered with the correct links, including capitalisation? • Did you use all the pictures you added to the Images folder? • Did you link to pictures which you forgot to add to the Images folder? • Did you accidentally paste some text into a title and therefore create many entries with the same header ID (check the code to see)? If so, either edit the header IDs out of the code along with any stray heading formatting or delete that whole section, write something in “Normal” formatting and re-paste from your original text onto that. Keep re-verifying until you have no errors. As you can see, these instructions could go on forever, but what I’ve told you should be enough to get a simple book ready. Save the ePub file and save a copy for converting. Convert ePub To MOBI using Kindle Previewer Ensuring you are using a copy of your ePub file and not the original, open the Kindle Previewer application. Then drag the file into the main area and wait for it to convert. After a minute or so, in a sub folder of the location of the file you just converted, you’ll find the new MOBI file. Check over it and see exactly how your new eBook will look on the Kindle. Manor House Mystery has 5 entries in the series. The Manor House Mystery series is a series of historical and cozy mystery books written by the world famous British author named Doreen Roberts under the pseudonym of Kate Kingsbury. This series consists of a total of 9 books, which were released between the years 2001 and 2006. The series basically takes place at the time of the World War II and follows the activities in the life of the main character named Lady Elizabeth Hartleigh Compton. She is described by author Kate as the lady of the prestigious Manor House, located in Sitting Marsh, the United Kingdom. Author Kate started with the written work of this cozy mystery series in the year 2001 and also released its initial book in the same year. After the publication of the 9th book in the series in 2006, author Kate informed everyone that she has concluded the series. ![]() The debut book of the cozy mystery series was published under the title ‘A Bicycle Built For Murder’. This book was published by the Berkeley publishers in the year 2001. At the beginning of the story, it is shown that it is the time of the Second World War in England and the people living in the quiet Sitting Marsh village seem to be facing the problems of scarcity of food rations. They also fear for the safety of their loved ones in such difficult times. During this, Elizabeth Hartleigh Compton is introduced in the novel as the lady of the hugely built Manor House. She is one of the residents of the peaceful village of Sitting Marsh, who insists with stubbornness that people should continue to live their lives as usual in spite of the harsh conditions that the world war has brought. Seeing Elizabeth as a bright light of hope in the feared situation, the people of the Sitting Marsh village request her to make sure that the things go on smoothly in the village. And with everything, Elizabeth knows that she has to really deal with everything, starting from the sorting out of the gossips to solving the murder cases happening occasionally in the village. A 16 year old girl named Beryl Pierce, who also lives in Sitting Marsh, seems to be causing a lot of trouble for the other residents. ![]() ![]() ![]() However, unlike the Amazon Prime Lending Library (we'll be visiting Amazon again by the time we're done), people can only check out as many copies of an ebook as your library owns. I started buying and reading them about two years ago, and I’ve never looked back. Although I’ve been a bookworm since, well, birth, in recent years my bookshelves have become so crammed that I’ve simply run out of room for more books. If you had asked me a couple years ago if I would ever transition to reading via a Kindle or other eReader, I would have laughed. Nope, not me! I would have said. I like the feel of a good paperback in my hands, where I can flip the pages and highlight and underline and fold down the pages. Besides, I love the smell of old books. But I changed. And even though I occasionally still go for a hard copy (like of my 600+page book!), I primarily now read eBooks. What I love about ebooks: • They are instantly accessible. Whether you order a PDF version or a Kindle or Nook version, you can start reading immediately after your purchase. • There are no shipping fees or taxes. Most (maybe all) electronic products do not require that you pay taxes, and since the product is not in a hard copy, you eliminate the need for shipping. • They are often cheaper. Now, this is not always the case, but many times authors will price the electronic versions of their books more cheaply because their costs of printing the book is much lower in the first place. • They are a way I can support my favorite authors and bloggers. When I purchase an eBook from a blogger, for example–especially the PDF version–I know that that money is going directly to paying their expenses and helping them run their sites and support their families. There is no “middle man” to pay. • They take up less space–or any space at all. You can print out an eBook (the whole thing or portions of it), but you don’t have to, so they only take up space on your electronic devices and keep your home less cluttered.
